                                       “Blessed are the Peacemakers

  1. Introduction

  1. Review
  2.   Review of beatitudes
  3.   Bible opens with peace in Creation
  4.   Bible closes with peace in eternity
  5.   This morning we will discuss peace in the “in-between”

  1. What is Peace?

  1. Peace that we are looking at this morning is, internal and spiritual -it is more than the                 absence of conflict but the presence of righteousness.
  2.   God alone is the source of that peace
  3.   Christ is the source of that righteousness

  1. There are types of peace
  2.   Circumstantial peace
  3.   Personal or internal peace - self
  4.   Perfect peace - relational peace - God
  5.     Vertical
  6.     Horizontal

  1. What is a Peacemaker?

  1. Peacemakers are true Believers
  2. Because of that vertical peace with God - we can now have horizontal peace with others.
  3.   We are now compelled to go out into a world that is filled with sinful conflict and             contention, and act as agents of God's "horizontal - relational" peace -and                  become peacemakers!
  4.   We are to live lives of "peace-making" in all respects and in all our relationships -             family, marriage, work, social, church; and even, if possible, our enemies.
  5. Within the Church
  6. Outside the Church

  1. The blessing…for they shall be called sons of God
  2. When we, in the name of Jesus and in the power of the Holy Spirit, work in this world as peacemakers we are behaving like Jesus Himself behaved.
